IPM entrance test 2022 was conducted by IIM Indore on July 2, 2022. The exam contained 90 questions across three sections viz. Quantitative Ability (MCQ) – 30 Q, Quantitative Ability (Short Answers) – 15 Q and Verbal Ability – 45 Q. Each section had a time limit of 40 min. One could move to the next section any time before the completion of the sectional time limit, but could not come back to the previous section. The order of sections was pre-defined.

In Quantitative Ability (MCQ) & Verbal Ability Sections, each correct answer fetched 4 marks and each incorrect one attracted a penalty of 1 mark. In the Quantitative Ability (Short Answers) section, answers had to be typed in the box provided against the question. These questions did not attract any negative marking.

Let us look at individual sections.

The questions  based on functions was somewhat difficult while those based on coordinate geometry were moderately tough, and logarithms was doable. The rest were a mixed lot. Section 3 – Verbal Ability – 45 Questions (40 Min)

This section is likely to be an easy section and students shouldn’t miss scoring opportunities, if student had used available time well. Here is the topic wise break up:

Most Q were fact based & could be easily answered)

There were no pure vocabulary questions. A serious attempt of 36-38 Q was possible. With 80% accuracy, it comes to a raw score of 110.

The overall difficulty level of the exam could be similar to that of 2021 & a total raw score of 145 should be good to get a PI-WAT call.

All the best for the PI-WAT shortlist!! IPM Careers would be happy to help you with PI-WAT specific inputs and enable you to get through the last hurdle of IIM IPM 2022 selection.
